Privacy policy
MR. Catering provides catering, bar concepts and complete event catering for businesses and private individuals. For this, we need certain personal data from you. In this privacy statement, you can read which data this concerns, what we use it for, with whom we share it and what rights you have. We handle your data with care and comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Who are we?
MR. Catering is the trade name of MR. Catering Events, a general partnership (vennootschap onder firma), registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KvK) under number 92540201. We are responsible for the processing of your personal data as described in this statement.

What data do we process?
When you calculate a price or submit a request
Through the price tool Calculate your price, the quote request form or the contact form, we receive:
- your name, your company name where applicable, email address and telephone number;
- details of your event: type of event, date, times, number of guests, the address of the venue or the delivery address, and your chosen catering, options and extras;
- anything you enter yourself under requirements or questions.
Dietary requirements and allergies
If you provide dietary requirements or allergies, these may reveal information about your health or that of your guests. We use this data only to prepare the food and drink safely for your event. By providing it to us, you give your consent to this. Preferably, do not include the names of guests, only the numbers (for example “3 gluten-free”).
The address of your event in the price tool
To calculate the distance and the travel costs, the price tool looks up the address you type in. For this purpose, your search term is sent to the PDOK Locatieserver (Kadaster) and to Photon (Komoot, based on OpenStreetMap). The map is loaded from PDOK. In the process, these services also see your IP address. We use the address only for calculating the distance and the price and for carrying out your event.
When you place an order
To confirm, carry out and invoice your order, we use your contact and event details and your billing details, such as the billing address, your company’s VAT number and any order number or reference.
When you contact us
If you email, call or WhatsApp us, we keep the messages and data needed to help you. If you use the WhatsApp button, WhatsApp’s terms also apply.
When you visit the website
Our website runs on Shopify. When you visit, technical data is processed, such as your IP address, browser and device, among other things to keep the website running securely and to prevent misuse of forms. The website’s fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, and the map in the price tool uses Leaflet via cdnjs (Cloudflare). These services also see your IP address. You can read which cookies we use in our cookie policy.
What do we use your data for?
- Your request and our proposal. To calculate a price, advise you and send you a tailored proposal. Legal basis: steps taken at your request before a contract is entered into.
- Carrying out your event. To prepare the catering, schedule staff and materials, deliver or set up, and stay in touch with you about the day itself. Legal basis: performance of the contract.
- Invoicing and administration. Legal basis: legal obligation (including the statutory obligation to retain records for tax purposes).
- Dietary requirements and allergies. To serve food and drink safely. Legal basis: your explicit consent.
- A secure and properly functioning website. Legal basis: our legitimate interest.
- Analytics. Only if we use analytics or marketing services, and only after you have given your consent via the cookie banner. Legal basis: consent.
We do not send you newsletters or advertising unless you have asked for them yourself. We never sell your data to others.
The price tool automatically calculates an indicative price. No legal consequences are attached to this; the final price is set out in our proposal.
Who do we share your data with?
We share your data only where this is necessary for the purposes above:
- Shopify, for the website and receiving forms;
- our suppliers for email, administration and accounting;
- partners involved in your event, such as a rental company for materials or tents and additional (hospitality) staff. They receive only what they need for their task, such as the venue, the times and a contact person on the day itself;
- PDOK (Kadaster) and Photon (Komoot), for looking up the address in the price tool;
- Google Fonts and Cloudflare (cdnjs), for loading fonts and the map;
- Google (Tag Manager and analytics), only after your consent via the cookie banner.
With parties that process data on our behalf, we make the arrangements required by the GDPR. Apart from this, we only pass on data if the law requires us to do so.
Data outside Europe
Some of these services, such as Shopify, Google and Cloudflare, may also process data outside the European Economic Area. This only takes place with the safeguards required by the GDPR, such as the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework or the standard contractual clauses of the European Commission.
How long do we keep your data?
- A request that does not result in an order: up to 12 months after our last contact, so that we can refer back to it if you have a new enquiry.
- Data relating to an order, such as confirmations and invoices: 7 years, due to the statutory retention obligation.
- Dietary requirements and allergies: until no later than 30 days after your event.
- Other emails and messages: for as long as necessary to help you, and no longer than 2 years after completion.
Photos at events
At events, we sometimes photograph our own set-up, products and team, for example for our website and social media. We do not publish, without consent, images in which guests are recognisable. If you do not want us to take photos at your event, please let us know in advance.
Security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss and unauthorised use. The website uses a secure connection (https), and only staff who need your data have access to it.
Your rights
You have the right to access your data and to have it corrected or deleted. You can also object to its use, have its use restricted, have your data transferred and withdraw any consent you have given. Send your request to info@mrcatering.nl. We will respond within one month. To prevent misuse, we may ask you to identify yourself.
If you are not satisfied with how we handle your data, please let us know and we will look for a solution together. You can also lodge a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, autoriteitpersoonsgegevens.nl).
Changes
We may amend this privacy statement, for example if our services or the law change. The current version can always be found on this page.
